For highly individual business processes, very complex logic, or extreme scaling requirements, custom development may be the more sensible solution. Other CMS such as Typo3 or Drupal are better suited for some requirements but also come with many disadvantages. For example, higher development efforts, fewer skilled professionals available on the market, and even they reach their limits with complex requirements.
